Summer Fun!

This summer has been a blast so far and I feel like its just begun (probably because we are just now starting to get nice weather).  Last weekend Abby had her cousins up for a slumber party!  We had a great time in Kirkland watching the Blue Angels.  I met Kyle, Amy and the kids at the marina in downtown Kirkland and while Kyle and Amy boated off for a date day/night, I whisked the kids away to go pick out their favorite ice cream!

After ice cream we found a little park to play at where we could see some big planes.  The kids were sticky and filthy with sand by the end but I think they all had a great time.  I felt like my mom back in the day with a 6 yr old, 3yr old, 2 1/2 yr old and 8 mo old--It was like when she would go out with Michelle, Kyle, me and Kora!  People looked at me like I was crazy--probably because I had a baby in the front pack and 3 kids in a double stroller.  heehee
All bathed and ready for a movie and popcorn w/ Uncle Zach!  The kiddos LOVE popcorn and Uncle Zach loves watching movies.
This is how they slept. Sophia was in Abby's bed and Abby and Griff shared a queen size mattress.  Of course Abby and Griff also used her bed and the mattress as jumping stations.  Griff would jump off of Abby's bed onto the mattress.  When Kyle and Amy got to our house and saw that they were playing like this Kyle was a little nervous but I just had to tell him I don't look and just hope its all okay.  :)
The newly landscaped backyard has been wonderful.  Abby loves to run around back there and we don't have to have boots on to do it.  The other day Shasta and Quinn came over to say hello.  Abby LOVES playing w/ the dogs. . .Ty, on the other hand, was a little apprehensive.  You can sorta tell by the lines by his eyes that he is crying.  :)
This summer Abby's preschool has 4 summer camps that she can go to.  So far she's done 3 and loves them.  Here she is eating lunch w/ her friends, McKenna and Sarah.  I just love picking her up and seeing her sitting at the table w/ her lunch for some reason.  It's just so cute.
The other evening I took Abs and Ty on a run/walk at the Burke Gilman trail and ended at the park in Woodinville.  I finally remembered to bring sand toys for the sand box.  Abby was a little disappointed that the sand wasn't firm enough for her to make sand castles but I think she still had fun.  Ty, of course, ate a handful of sand right after this picture!  YUK
My pretty little lady sportin one of Sophia's old outfits.  She looked so cute in it. . .and she is just getting so old, I can't even believe she will be 3 this year!
Ty is also getting so big.  He'll be 9 months Aug. 15th!  He is crawling everywhere and he is fast!  He is also pulling himself up onto things and then thinks he can stand/walk on his own.  I feel like I am all over the place trying to protect him from biting the dust.  He is so proud that he can almost do the same things as his sister.  He wants to be just like her!  Yesterday they both wore me out--she likes to sit and lay on him and he likes to try to climb her and pull her hair.  They both don't care that the other is doing it but I care. . .it's so hard keeping them apart though!
Last night I took the kids to Redmond Town Center for dinner and to play.  Zach was at a work out competition type thing at the gym and we were stir crazy from being home all day so we ventured out.  I was so tired though and kind of worried my idea would backfire on me and dinner w/ two babes would be a disaster.  I prayed it would all be okay because I really wanted a nice dinner. . .and they were both soooo good.  I had each one in a highchair on either side of me.  After dinner we went to get ice cream and play w/ the toys.  There was a concert too so we listened to that for awhile.  Abby and Ty loved being outside enjoying the warm summer evening.  Ty fell asleep on the way home and Abby was close!
I'm so glad we still have some summer left to play in the sun!  I just wish I got summer break like the kids so we could play all day every day!  :)

Little Miss Abigail

My little almost 3 year old is out of the tantrum stage--thank God! and into complete adorable stage!  She talks and talks and talks and the things that come out of her mouth crack me up.  She loves to cook, bake or pretend to do both.  Here we are making donuts. . .
and here we are making pita pizzas--she was so excited to make these tonight because Cailou makes pizzas with Jeffrey and Jason on an episode. . .of course, she always has to cook and taste test.  This was a pizza she got to do whatever she wanted to as we were done with the ones we were going to eat.  :)
She realized that adding water to the rice was even more fun than just playing with the rice.  Only problem--water and rice = major yuk if not cleaned up and thrown away each day.  She always acts like she is making Ty food.  She just loves her brother--I really hope it stays that way, they are such buds!  He's been teething and was crying the other evening and she just kept saying "its okay Ty, its okay" and then when she was in bed and he was crying she told me to go take care of him.  Bless her little heart.

Here's my goofball that thinks she is hilarious All. The. Time!  Even when she is getting in trouble she laughs!  Tonight she got total church laugh and couldn't stop. . .deep down it was cracking me up but I had to remain fairly emotionless so that she would start to calm down for bed.  I do love that she already has such a huge sense of humor.
And my little girl prefers to be naked or almost naked most of the time.  Last week she got to spend quite a few days at Grammy & Grampys (which she absolutely loves) and it was warm enough (well kinda warm enough) for a "bath" outside.  Grammy filled the pool with lots of buckets of warm water and my little sweetheart decided she wanted to go inside for a bath as soon as Grammy was done filling the pool.  Thanks for all the hard work Grammy-welcome to my world!
While we were in Olympia Marisa's neighborhood had a community garage sale so we decided to head over for a visit because Abby really wanted to see Ris's dog, Lady and follow Grandpa wherever he was going.  She also enjoyed riding on Cousin Don's bike. . .kinda thinking we need to get one of these things!
For some reason putting on Mom's shoes is the thing to do.  I don't know how she doesn't twist an ankle when she does this.  She thinks she is so cute and funny.
One last shot of my chef with a big smile.  She was so proud of her pizzas tonight.  I had a lunch appointment with a client today so I had our babysitter, Elliotte, come over to watch the kiddos.  I kept telling Abby ahead of time that Elliotte was coming over to play and she said "and Mommy too" and I just didn't really say anything in return.  Finally I told her I would be going to work for just a bit and she said in an exasperated tone--"okay"  I was worried there was going to be a breakdown when I left but she came out of the room and acted shy at first (for like 5 seconds) and then ran back and yelled "Elliotte" cuz she wanted her to play with her.  She then came out to the kitchen where I was doing a few last minute things and said "mommy go to work"--okay then, I'm outta here!  :)  It made me so happy.  She's just so dang cute lately.  She's soooo excited for another preschool summer camp next week.  It will be an art series.  She can't wait to see her teachers and friends.  She says their names and told me she wanted to go to preschool today so I think she is missing it.  She is also going to get a big surprise (well I told her today but I don't think she tuned in) that her cousins, Griffin and Sophia will be slumber partying with us this Friday!  I can't wait-I love when they are all together.
I love you sweet girl.  Thanks for being such a silly, happy, loving girl.

8 months already? Are you kidding me?

I still can't believe my little guy is 8 months old today!  He is so cute, squishy and lovable.  He adores his sister so much.  I love watching them together.  At 8 months old Ty is eating solids. . .I have to admit, I am not the greatest w/ this milestone. . .I hate how messy baby food is and that I have to be the one to feed it to him so he's kind of gone straight to solids.  He loves french fries and honey nut Cheerios.  I do really need to start introducing more "healthy" options for him.  :)  He has also mastered crawling and sitting up on his own.  With Abby I would prop pillows all around her to get her to learn to sit up on her own.  Ty--another story, I tried that a few times but every time he would go forward and then end up on his tummy so I just quit trying.  One day I looked down and he was just sitting up on his own like he had been doing it forever.  We haven't looked back since.  :) I love that he can sit and crawl now--he keeps himself so entertained all over the house, pushing toys and going after them.  Abby and I always giggle when we see him crawling down the hall to find us because he looks so tiny.  He is so strong and is already trying to pull himself up to standing.
Abby has had a lot going on lately too--Her preschool offers 4 summer school weeks so we've decided to enroll her in them and she is loving it!  She goes Mon-Thurs 9am-noon and gets to eat lunch with the other kids.  She got to pick out a lunch pail (Toy Story) and a water bottle (Cars).  It is just so cute picking her up and seeing her eating with all of the other little ones.  She seems like such a big girl now--its crazy!

This green dress is becoming her favorite thing to wear.  When I ask what she wants to put on for clothes today she always says her "green dress".  Hey, at least it is cute!  :)
Once again, we all celebrated the 3rd and 4th of July at Alderbrook Resort & Spa.  Abby was soooo excited to see her cousins, aunts, uncles, Grandpa, Grandma and of course the fireworks. . .as you can see though she fell asleep mid way through the show!  :(  She was beat.  All she talks about now is fireworks and "Grammas cottage" cuz my parents stayed in a cottage at Alderbrook.  We will be doing it again next summer and I can't wait!
Daddy is working on getting Ty to love the water as much as his sister.  He dunked him in the pool but Ty did NOT like it at all.  You can't tell by this picture but boy was he mad at his dad just minutes earlier.  We are trying to toughen this guy up. . .he is a little softy compared to his sis.  :)
Our little crawler finding some fries to munch on!  hee hee, love it.
Finally we are getting warm weather which meant we needed a pool for the backyard. . .the backyard that is in the process of being landscaped!  I am so excited for it to be done which should be this week.  It is going to be awesome to be able to play back there.  When Zach and I moved in to this house the backyard was a marsh covered in HUGE trees--major difference now.

Our deck is so huge we have lots of room for the little ones to play and they can't escape!  Ty REALLY wants to play with his sister all. the. time!  Usually she is okay with it but there are times she gets annoyed with him trying to pull her hair and eat her legs.  :)
This particular day Abby kept bringing toys out to the deck.  I swear we had all the toys from inside out there by days end.  Our cute little cowgirl. . .of course shirtless cuz that's how she rolls lately!
This is today--Ty's birthday!  He crawled back to Abby's room while I was changing her diaper.  He always wants to be a part of the action.  It is so cute hearing his hands slap on the hardwood floor as he ventures around the house from room to room.  I honestly can't believe I have an almost 1 year old and an almost 3 year old.  Life has definitely settled down a little and my hormones aren't all crazy so heck I'm ready for #3!  Hee hee. . .well, maybe not quite ready.  :)
Happy 8 month birthday happy boy!

Father's Day at the Zoo!

Today was such a fun Father's Day at the zoo with my fam and Grandpa Rudy. We got lucky with no rain and not a huge crowd. Abby got to be front row for an elephant bath which she loved. She just had a great time and zonked no problem tonight. Ty snuggled on me most of the time but did get a few compliments on his cute hat. I love my family and had so much fun with them today. Thank you Grandpa Rudy for taking us all to the zoo. Happy Father's Day to my husband, my Dad and Z's Dad i love you all!

It's been too long. . .

I can't believe it's been over a month since I last posted. My blog used to get updated on a weekly basis after Abigail was born. . .I guess two babies and a full time job equal not enough time in the day to get fun stuff like this done on a regular basis. Here are some fun May highlights. . .

My Birthday!  The big 3-6.  Yikes, I can't believe I am that old.
My boys lookin ever so cute!
Baby Don turned 1 so we had a party at the Lake House.  This pic is just too cute.  Abby rode in a boat for the first time and fished off the dock for the first time--she LOVED both!
Mother's Day--we happened to be in Olympia so the Hussey clan celebrated together at Anthony's.  Afterwards we took a walk and had a big Stroller Brigade.  This is all the grandkids with Grammy and Gramps!
Zach and I had our first vacation away from the babes.  Vegas Baby!  We were gone 3 nights and 3 days.  We basically sat by the pool all day and enjoyed yummy food and drinks at night.  It was soooo awesome relaxing w/o the children.  We had a really good time and can't wait to do it again.  :)
Ty got baptized!  Abby was a bit antsy during mass so we gave her a "Dum Dum" to try and keep her happy.  She decided it needed to be thrown into the Holy Water Pool in the front of church.  I couldn't believe it!  I did save it though and decided I will make her suck on it when she is bad. . .it has to help, right????  :)
Abby learned how to pump milk!  HA--just kidding but she thought she was really funny pretending. :)
She is also getting really good at going potty in the toilet. . .wherever she sees fit.  Wouldn't it be nice to just take a toilet wherever you wanted?  She gets very excited when she "pottys" in the toilet but still wears a diaper 90% of the time.  I'm just not quite ready to fully commit to panties all the time. . .accidents over and over could really send me over the edge.  :)
We visited the Pacific Science Center (this actually happened this month).  Abby has soooo much fun there and LOVES the "Dinosaur Bones".  I kept thinking there were going to be lots of bones but found out that is just what she calls dinosaurs.  :)  We had to go through this exhibit twice.
Ty also enjoyed the science center but wished he was a little bigger so he could go play with his sis. . .maybe next time.
Our little guy is already 7 months old!  I can't even believe it.  He supposedly  hadn't grown in height from his 4 month appointment to his 6 month appointment so we're hoping at his 9 month appt. that there is a little growth. . .I don't think we are going to have a huge guy, that is for sure.  He is pretty much crawling. . .its more of a scoot and lunge but he can get all over very quickly.  I had him in his bedroom on the floor and he scooted to the door and shut it!  Made it a little difficult to get him because he was on the other side of the door blocking it from opening.  HA  He is eating solids a little bit and is getting better and better with it the more I offer it to him.  He is just my happy little guy all the time and I love it.  He makes me smile constantly.  Abby can really get him giggling--they are too cute together.  Speaking of Abby. . .she had her last day of preschool on Thursday.  We are going to miss it this summer and will be excited to start it up again in the Fall.  She has grown so much from being there these past few months and its been a nice break for me.  :)  I'm hoping to get to this blog more often so stay tuned. . .
Whaaaaaat's Uuuuup????  (Ty has also found his tongue and really enjoys sticking it out all the time!)

April highlights

I can't believe its been almost a month since I last posted!  April has been a busy month.  Ty turned 5 months old on April 15th so gosh, he is almost 6 months already--so hard to believe!  My two babes just continue to amaze me with their love for each other and their dang cuteness. . .I sometimes want to squeeze them so hard cuz they are so cute. . .I was telling Kora, I feel like Lenny from Of Mice & Men.  :) hee hee

As I keep mentioning, Abigail LOVES her brother and is very protective of him.  In fact, we just had Tom, Terri and Ella over for dinner last night and Tom wanted to hold Ty--Abs started crying and came running to me yelling "Ty, Ty". She wasn't sure about a stranger holding her brother. . .we assured her Tom was not a stranger and that it was okay so she soon got over it. :)
Abby also loves when Ty wakes up from bedtime.  She always says with excitement "Ty wakin up!" and runs to his room, climbs on his crib and says "Hi Ty" and then of course wants to get in the crib with him for a bit.  As you can see, Ty is pretty smitten with his sister too.  I hope it always stays this way!!
We took the kids to the Husky Spring Game last weekend and as soon as Abby spotted Harry the Husky she wanted to go take her picture with him. . .Dad would not go with her because he was busy watching the game so I had to.  Hmmmn--remember, I am a Cougar!!  Abby got down to Harry and turned all shy on us so I had to be in the picture with her or else she wouldn't even stand next to him.  Zach was watching from afar just giggling because he knew I was doing this with lots of hesitation. . .the things you do for your children.  :)
Another cute shot of my babes--Abs just wanted to lay in her brothers lap. . .poor girl lost a clump of hair at this sitting though.  OOPS
I love this pic of Abs--she got stuck in my Hunters--she reminds me of the Vlasic Pickle bird.  hee hee
We had a random hot day this month so Abs took advantage of her water table. . .who says you can't get in and use it like a small pool.  We will be buying a small plastic pool for this summer--she LOVES the water and swimming.
Our little guy could stay in the Jump n Go all day just jumpin away. . .even when he falls asleep. . .all of a sudden he'll jump again.  It's hilarious.
Apparently Abby thought Ty had a boo-boo on his forehead.  :)

It is so fun watching these two with each other. . .it will be so fun when they can really "play" together.  I won't say "I can't wait" because I don't want to rush them growing up. . .the time has already gone too fast.

May is already underway!  Zach planned a getaway for us to Vegas for May 13-16--it will be our first trip away without the children for more than one night since Abigail was born.  We are both very excited to veg by the pool, go out to fabulous dinners and take our time to eat and sleep as late as we want.  I know we'll still talk about our babes tons and will be so excited to see them come Wednesday afternoon but at the same time--we will enjoy every minute of it being just the two of us for a few days!!  I can't wait.
