We are home from the big check up. Some of you may know that I was not one that went out and bought a ton of baby books to prepare for being a mom. . .I figured one book was enough and if I had a question about anything I could always look it up online. Well, I completely forgot the section on "what to expect at your child's two month check up" because I scanned it so long ago. I was totally unprepared to hear that my baby was going to have 3 SHOTS today!!! I instantly felt sick to my stomach in fear for how Abigail was going to handle it. I kept thinking back to when Joe had shots and cried and cried when he got home and I just held him crying as well until we both fell asleep in my parent's bed--so we were both babies. . . :) Abs actually did really well at the entire appointment. She didn't mind having her clothes off--partially because there was a mirror and she loves those and I had her on her snugly blanket from Zach's aunt and uncle. She was so smiley that it made me even more sad to know that in a few short minutes she was not going to be a happy camper. I didn't even have baby Tylenol at home!! Horrible mother. The shots were so quick but her face did instantly go bright red and on came the crying. I swept her up in my arms and soothed and nursed her and very quickly the crying stopped and she fell fast asleep. I had to shed a few tears myself--so I'm still a huge baby, who cares. :) I decided I would go get her Tylenol and get myself a glass of wine!! Neither one of us has gotten our fix of either yet though and we are both doing fine. As soon as Abs wakes up I will give her a little shot of the Baby T. Okay, enough about the drama of the shots--on to her stats!!
Comparison of her first check up and this one:
Length
11/18/09--19 1/2 inches 25th%
1/14/10--22 1/2 inches 50%
Weight
11/18/09--6lbs 9oz 7th%
1/14/10--11lbs 13oz 75th%
Head Circumference
11/18/09--13 1/2 inches 20th%
1/14/10--15 5/8 inches 70th%
Our little girl has really grown. The doctor was so proud of how well Abby is doing, especially since she was born at 35 weeks. If she had gone full term she would be off the charts for her growth--ha. . .she has always been "growing generously". :)

Okay - here are the comparisons because we like to do that:
Griffin at 2 months was 22 5/8 inches long and 12 lbs 4 oz. So basically the same length and just a bit chunkier! Different percentiles, though, because he's on the boy charts, obviously.
Sophia only has 5 week stats and 11 week stats. At 11 weeks she was 11 lbs 11 oz, and 24 inches long.
Way to go Abs!! Can't wait to see you on the 23rd.
She's growing up so fast, before you know it she'll be reading out BC books too!
Hers is a big girl:)!!!
She's the perfect size :) and she's so stinkin' cute!
So she and Mia really are neck and neck--Mia was 11 lbs 13 oz last week. :) But think of how much faster Abs had to grow to get there since she was born a lot smaller than Mia. She's a little growing machine! Great job mama! :)Shots are awful, glad you're coping well.
She is advanced you know. Go Abs, go!
I hate shots and it seems like Ellie has gotten shots (usually 3 per visit) at every check up to date. I too cried when Ellie had her first shot!! But it gets easier on both Mom & baby. Abby is growing so big, good job Mom & Dad!!
